One of the most exciting moments during the pregnancy or birth of a new child is finding out whether a newborn child will be a little boy, or a beautiful girl. It provides ample opportunity to search out baby apparel that compliments the sex of an infant, and to coordinate the decoration of the nursery.

Most new parents refer to a layette list to provide information about the most vital baby apparel elements needed for a new child. This collection of clothes and accessories most often includes: a “coming home” outfit, sleepwear, onesies and t-shirts, receiving and swaddling blankets, bath time towels and wash cloths, hats and booties, and burp cloths.

Some parents choose to purchase the bulk of these items on their own, while others rely on a baby shower to provide most of their infant’s layette needs. It is important that new parents have an ample supply and wide variety of clothing options to accommodate a newborn’s needs.
